Information:
TURHEC is an extended and homogenized earthquake catalogue in an easily manageable format for all earth scientists. It is the most comprehensive catalogue for Turkey and contains approximately ~378 000 events between 1900 and October 2018.
The first version of the catalogue was published by Tan (2021, A homogeneous earthquake catalogue for Turkey, NHESS, DOI: https://doi.org/10.5194/nhess-21-2059-2021) and the data file can be downloaded from ZENDO (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5056801).
Important:
The catalogue is not declustered. It contains aftershocks. For advanced studies, you should decluster the catalogue.
The catalogue may contain quarry blasts reported by the institutions as earthquakes. Simply, you may filter the data for M>2.5 to remove all possible artificial events.
There are zero magnitude evens in the extended version. The magnitudes of these events were not reported by the institutions.
All available magnitude values are given for the events.
I suggest using Mw* (equal moment magnitude) at column 44.
Update:
The updated version contains the events between 1900 - 2023 in a larger area (see the map below).
Please send an email ( onur.tan [at] iuc.edu.tr ) for this version.
