About Mrs. Rosas

Hello, Westwood, my name is Christie Jasina Rosas and I am excited to start the school year teaching music at Thorne and Daly elementary schools.

I have spent over a decade teaching music in Wayne county schools, and almost two decades involved in teaching music programs throughout metro Detroit. I started playing the flute in fifth grade band and from there found a love for singing in choir, playing piano, and playing piccolo in marching band. I attended Central Michigan University where I participated in wind symphony, wind ensemble, flute choir, concert choir, marching band, and was lucky to go to Europe with Jazz Lab 1. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Educational Psychology from Wayne State University.

Over the years, I have especially enjoyed working with students to create unique musical opportunities and giving them a chance to shine. I look forward to working with Mr. Avis in building an outstanding music program that will highlight the many musical talents in Westwood Schools!
