Westwood friends and family! I am very excited to be working with the wonderful students of Westwood Schools. I would like to take a moment to tell you a little about myself.
I attended high school at Livonia Franklin High School, graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Education from Michigan State University (Go Green!), and completed a Master's in Music Education from Eastern Michigan University. I have played in many ensembles in my educational tenure including: concert band, symphony band, jazz band, and marching band at Franklin; concert band, campus band, jazz band, campus singers, and marching band at Michigan State; and the church choir at Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church. My main instrument is Alto Saxophone and I can play all the band instruments, piano, guitar, and ukulele.
I began my teaching career in 2008 with Livonia Public Schools and have taught at various K-8 general music and band positions in metro Detroit. I have been with Westwood Community Schools since Fall 2014 and have been happily working to build the band and choir programs at Tomlinson Middle School and Robichaud High School.
My wife is a teacher at Thorne Elementary and we have two kids: Liam and Nora. They are 6 and 3, respectively. I enjoy watching and playing hockey and football. My favorite teams are the Red Wings, Spartan Football, and the Lions.
