    5. Two essays

with each coming together to either earn the applicant a minimum of 64 points for NHS or 55 points for JNHS.

  • Applicants will be given from January 25th-February 24th to apply, after which new members will be announced in late March.

  • Finally, there will be a meeting and formal induction in the spring!

Why Join?

Payton's National Honors Society is a coalition of high-achieving students from across the school community, and by being a part of it you gain an avenue to connect with these other students and in fact to students across the country through the collective pillars held and excellence sought. In addition to this, with acceptance into the National Honor's Society you:

  • Gain access to scholarships. Every year, the NHS offers its scholarship that any member can apply for and receive money from. Alongside this, NHS involvement bolsters your resume, which may be helpful in applying for other scholarships as well.

  • Do good and Feel good. Being part of the WPCP NHS encourages you to seek out service opportunities and provides a place to share them, leading you to do more service, interact at a meaningful level with your communities, and feel good doing it.

  • Get the opportunity to try new things! With service opportunities being shared out within the organization and various leadership roles in place, there is lots to try in NHS that you perhaps have never done before!
