Rainbarrel art

My barrel is “Wildflowers and Sunflowers in the Rain.” I have been inspired by how beautiful the countryside looks when blanketed in flowers that live only on rainwater. As a decorative painter, flowers are one of my favorite subjects to paint.

I am so excited! I have been selected to paint a rain barrel for the Rainwater Revival being held the last Saturday in October in Boerne, TX.

I am going to work on the barrel on the front porch so all the neighbors can follow the progress and to keep the smell of exterior paint outside of the house.

Each step of the way I will be chronicling the progress on the design as it goes from bright green to Texas Wildflowers in the rain.

8/24 The humidity is not my friend! I am making slower progress as the paint is taking a bit longer to dry. Still a lot is already on the barrel.

8/31 Have the flowers basically finished and am ready to start on the rain and water drops. This has been an amazingly rewarding project to work on for the inner artist.
