The article defines collaboration and describes what it looks like, describes four models of collaboration: coordination, cooperation / partnership, integrated instruction, integrated curriculum, and lists impediments and enablers to collaboration. The conclusions lists benefits of collaboration and the recommendations outline the importance of the administrator for school site collaboration to work. University level changes are also explored.

The study reports that schools which signed up for Library Power showed greater collaboration activities among teachers and librarians. It presents analysis of data surveyed from participants, discusses range of collaboration and purposes, library skills helped in accomplishing unit activities. The study concludes with a discussion of challenges – support in implementing collaboration, and the time involved in making it work.
