Women In STEM-C

Women In STEM-C is a collaborative project between CREC’s Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, the Greater Hartford Academy of Math and Science and the Connecticut Computer Science Teachers Association (CTCSTA – www.ctcsta.org ) to promote STEM and Computer Science among Connecticut high school girls, led by Dr. Chinma Uche, President, CTCSTA. Women in STEM-C is held in the second week of December, as part of the celebration of the Computer Science Education Week (www.csedweek.org) celebration, to highlight the role Computer Science plays in supporting all fields of endeavor in our digital world. This event is inspired by a similar event hosted by female students from Connecticut College, led by Rebecca Napolitano, who created the Women in Science program to show high school girls how to enjoy themselves while applying the basic themes of science in a practical and experimental context. It is open to all Connecticut middle and high school girls.
