James "Jimmy" Russell Sevachko

James R. Sevachko, 63, of Metairie, LA died Saturday, January 7, 2012. He was born on October 24, 1948 in Washington, DC to the late George and Helen Sevachko. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters; Elizabeth Sherrill, Dorothy Callis and Margaret Fairfax, and two brothers; Charles and Kenneth Sevachko.

James served his country as part of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion Post 139 and Post 85 in Arlington, VA and most recently worked as an IT supervisor for government contracts. James is survived by his daughter, Erin Treser of Fairfax, VA and by his brother, Gregory Paul Sevachko of Holiday, FL. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave. Warrenton, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January, 13, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 139, 3445 Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201.
