Headmistresses

Holly Hassel: Holly Hassel is a Professor of English and chair of the UW Colleges Women's Studies program. She has been co-directing the Wizarding Academy since 2008. She lives in Wausau with her husband and 6-year old daughter Trixie and 20 month old son Gus.

Jill Stukenberg: An Assistant Professor in English, Jill teaches Compositon, Creative Writing, and a course in Literary Magazines at UWMC. She is also the host of 1,000 Words Wausau, which brings UWMC and community writers together in a challenge of wit and word use. Though her cat, Winston, believes the Harry Potter series would benefit from more cat characters, Jill's a fan of the books just the way they are.

Valerie: Hi, my name is Valerie Bastian and I am a Criminal Justice major at UWMC. In my free time I love learning new hula hooping tricks, volunteering at church, singing, being involved with the Wausau Police Explorer Post and, of course, reading Harry Potter books. :) I look forward to meeting everybody here at the Wizaring Academy!
