Patient Breath Simulator
Portable breath simulator
Simulation of real-world clinical conditions
Detects failure modes not detected by current testing methods
Utilizes calibration gas bottle and internal valves and pumps to simulate patient breath waveforms
Touch screen controlled
Battery (6 hours) or line powered
RFID identification of cal gas bottle contents and expiration date
Testing Capabilities
Flow and leak test – Measures sample flow, challenges pump and checks for internal leaks
Regular breath test – establishes baseline gas measurement accuracy
CPAP breath test - Simulates breath at constant pressure
Cyclic pressure test – Simulates breath under dynamic pressure produced by ventilators
High respiratory rate test – Simulates higher breath rates of neonatal patients
FiCO2, Apnea and Obstruction alarm tests – Simulates common alarm conditions
NIST Traceable Manometer
NIST Traceable Flowmeter
NIST Traceable Barometer
Pressure Controller
Leak down test mode – generates selected pressure and then measures pressure drop over time
Breath simulation mode – CPAP or cyclic modes, adjustable PIP, RR, I:E ratio
Static (sensor) calibration mode – acts as a calibration gas bottle with regulator but does not require custom assembly of tubing/fittings/bladder
Data-rich report Including test details, pass/fail criteria and test results
Identifies issues and suggests possible causes to assist in troubleshooting
Built-in database of test profiles for capnometers and gas monitors
Contains setup details, pass/fail criteria and test configurations for common gas monitors
Identifies calibration gas to be used for each device
Can easily be edited or expanded, in the field, to include new gas monitors
Connect gas monitor sample line to SmartTank (A)
Connect gas monitor exhaust (or scavenger port) to SmartTank (B)
