It is now possible to follow public footpaths around the parish of Willaston without climbing stiles following the replacement of stiles by kissing gates. Wirral Footpaths & Open Spaces Preservation Society donated three of these kissing gates.
In 1977 Willaston Residents’ & Countryside Society produced a leaflet for three circular Willaston Village Walks. This leaflet has recently been updated and new colour coded way-mark signs are being erected with a different colour for each walk. Merseyside and West Cheshire Area Ramblers provided the funding for the signs. The following photographs show Willaston Scouts and girls from ‘1st Willaston Ranger Unit, from Girlguiding Senior Section’ erecting some of the way-mark signs.
