Set 6: Upper Meadows, Lookout Pass, George's Gorge
Upper Meadows is home of the famous Sarlat Viaduct -- a double-track, masonry viaduct built over the South Forks Gorge. Upper Meadows has a small flag-stop station where we see a couple waiting for the next local passenger train. The primary industry in the area is the busy Richter Pickle Company, complete with outdoor salting vats.
Lookout Pass is high up in the mountains near Shombord Peak and Summit Springs. This area features a wooden snow shed and High Bridge -- a steel trestle crossing George's Gorge, a favorite tourist's area to view birds and other wildlife.
