Boosters are parents, alumni, and community members who support Central Bands. If you are a parent or guardian of a WCHS or CWMS student you are automatically a Central Bands booster. For others interested in joining the boosters, there is a modest $10 annual membership fee.
This website and our Facebook page "Wilkes Central Band" are the primary online sources for public information including required forms, fees, a calendar of events, information about upcoming events, fundraising, info about recent band events and much, much more. You can also contact any band staff member or band booster officer for more information.
Students and parents in the Marching Eagles Band should read the current Band Handbook for specific information about policies, schedules, and expectations. We also distribute information through REMIND, an app that sends secure updates via text or email.
Wilkes Central Band Boosters, Inc. is a non-profit organization which supports the Central District Band programs.
IS THERE A FEE FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE BANDS?
2022-2023 Band Fees are $100 for Marching Band students, or $40 for non-marching band students. Marching Band Fees are payable to Wilkes Central Band Boosters. Non-marching fees are payable to the student's home-school.
Additional Field / Reward Trips may require additional fees for participation.
BOOSTER MEETINGS
Each month, boosters are encouraged to participate in a multi-school booster meeting. First timers are especially urged to attend the meetings in order to become more familiar with how the band programs work. We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month to avoid conflict with WCS School Board meetings. Check the Band Calendar for times/dates and locations. The "booster website" is also an excellent way to catch up on meeting notes/agendas.
HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT UPCOMING EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES?
Boosters should regularly consult the Band Calendar for times, dates and locations of upcoming activities including concerts, practices, camps, trips and more. We also send out information on Remind and Facebook.
