The Manitoba Motorcycle Club (MMC) was founded Feb 21, 1911 and Joe was a founding member. The WMC and MMC both operated concurrently for a few years. After setting the World Flat Track Record for 100 miles on 14 Oct 1911, the Hendee Manufacturing Co offered Joe a position as a factory rider. The photo below is of the WMC's send off to Joe before leaving Winnipeg. Joe is sitting to the left of the trophy in the photo.

In 1912 Joe moved to Toronto, where the Canadian factory was located, so his stay in Springfield must have been about a year. He is second from the left.
