Daisy with son Vincent, Niagara Falls 1915

Daisy Baribeau (Steeple), Joe's wife.

Daisy and Joe married when she was 18, a couple years after she had emigrated from England. Joe was 21.

My Grandmother was very specific about continuing the memory of Joe's accomplishments, and that is the reason for this website. For now it seems to be the best method to share Joe's history.

Grace Stewart (Baribeau), Paul Baribeau
2 of Joe's 6 children

My Aunt Grace collected a museums worth of clippings and photos of her Dad. I wouldn't have too much content without her efforts!

Paul Baribeau was the first Honorary Lifetime member of the AMCM/MMC , inducted for his efforts of promoting Joe's racing career. My dad tried for many years to enter his Dad into various sports hall of fames and ran into "well, motorcycling is not really an athletic sport" .

Mark Baribeau, Joe's Grandson

I never got to meet Joe. If I had paid a little more attention when I was younger I might have joined the AMCM/MMC a bit sooner, given that Grandpa was a Founding member and Dad was an Honorary member. But I am a member now, and I help publish the yearly Roster.

Jocelyne Baribeau (Mercier)
Joe's Granddaughter

Inspired by family stories told by Vincent_Baribeau (Joe's eldest son), my wife Jocelyne wrote this song. It tells the tale of a free spirit racer who made many sacrifices for his family.

A big thanks to Ross Metcalfe of the AMCM/MMC for his assistance nominating Joe for the

Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame
