Plummer D. Pride Traveling Gavel Rules
1. This gavel is sponsored by Monongalia Lodge #10, IOOF.
2. This gavel is for IOOF lodges within the jurisdiction of West Virginia only.
3. A minimum of five (5) members are required to visit the possessing Lodge to obtain the gavel.
4. The gavel can be obtained at any legal meeting.
5. The gavel must be asked for during the meeting to obtain it.
6. The gavel is to be presented by the Noble Grand of the possessing Lodge to a representative of the obtaining Lodge.
7. Should more than one Lodge be present to obtain the gavel
a. The Lodge with the most members present will obtain the gavel.
b. If each Lodge has an equal amount of members, the Lodge traveling the greater distance will obtain the gavel.
8. The Secretary of the obtaining Lodge must notify five (5) lodges within the jurisdiction, within one (1) week of obtaining the gavel.
9. A list of the Lodges notified MUST be sent to the sponsoring Lodge (#10) within one (1) week of obtaining the gavel.
THERE IS NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE!!!
10. The date, Lodge name & number, and the number of members MUST be recorded in the accompanying ledger.
11. The ledger MUST stay with the gavel at all times.
12. The gavel MUST be displayed in full view in the Lodge room at all open Lodge meetings
13. The purpose of the Plummer D. Pride Traveling Gavel is to increase fraternal brotherhood throughout the state with visitation among West Virginia IOOF Lodges.

The traveling gavel program was started on January 1, 1988 by Monongalia Lodge #10
The Plummer D. Pride Traveling Gavel is named in honor of Plummer D. Pride, PGM, member of Monongalia Lodge #10.
Plummer D. Pride was Grand Master of West Virginia in 1975
Plummer D. Pride passed away on November 1, 2000, twelve years after the traveling gavel program was started in his honor.
