Attendance Drawing

Started in April 2010, this drawing was devised to promote attendance at Lodge meetings.

Rules

(Amended 11/2/2023)

1.       100% of all money is to be used as the prize money for this drawing

2.       Only members of Wheeling Lodge #9 may purchase tickets

3.       Tickets are to be $1.00 each

4.       Tickets can only be purchased in person

5.       Purchasing members must Answer Roll Call at the Lodge meeting in which the tickets are being sold

a.       There is no exception

b.       Even when absent for Lodge Business (Grand Lodge, Official Visits, committee meetings)

c.       Members may not purchase tickets if only attending the meeting via online broadcast (zoom, MS teams, etc.)

d.       If a member purchases tickets prior to meeting and does not answer roll call, Ticket money paid will be forfeit and tickets will be removed from hopper

6.       Only three (3) tickets can be purchased per member per meeting

7.       Tickets will be sold before and/or after each meeting by an official appointed by the Noble Grand

a.       The official must be changed each month

b.       The official cannot be the Noble Grand, Secretary, or Treasurer

8.       Ticket sales begin at the first meeting of each month

9.       Sales end after the last meeting of the month

10.   Drawing will be held during “Good of the Order” at the first meeting of the following month

11.   The presiding Noble Grand will pull the winning ticket

12.   The winner of the drawing must have been present to answer roll call at that meeting to win the prize money

a.       If a member has to leave the meeting early for any reason, their attendance still counts as long as they answered roll call

b.       If a member arrives late, The member’s attendance is only counted, and eligible to win if they arrive prior to “Conferring of Degrees” in the Order of Business

c.       Members attending the meeting via online broadcast (zoom, MS teams, etc.) may win the drawing if their ticket is pulled.

13.   If the winner is not present, the prize money will roll over to the next month’s drawing

a.       In the event of a roll over

             i.      The drawn ticket is discarded

             ii.      All other tickets remain in the drawing for the following month

14.   All tickets must have the member’s name and date of purchase written on ticket before being turned in to the official

a.       Any tickets drawn without purchase date are to be discarded and the prize money is to be rolled over to the next month.
