Wheeling Lodge #9 Noble Grand, Mel Jeffcoat presents the WV Traveling Gavel to Virginia Lodge #1 Noble Grand, Lynn Folk
Six members of Virginia Lodge #1 made the very long journey from Harpers Ferry, WV to Wheeling on Thursday to capture the Plummer D. Pride Traveling Gavel. Visitation between Odd Fellows Lodges always makes for a fun meeting night. It is great to catch up with old friends, and to meet new ones. The Traveling gavel has called Wheeling it's home for the past seven months, since six members of Wheeling Lodge #9 traveled to Kanawha Lodge #25 in Charleston to capture the gavel on September 20, 2022, (click here for that story).

We are glad to see the gavel continue to travel the state of West Virginia, like it has for the past 35 years, when the traveling gavel program was started on January 1, 1988 by Monongalia Lodge #10. We hope to see it travel around the state for many years to come.
