Wheeling Lodge #9 Member's Picnic

Summer is not the busiest time for Wheeling Lodge #9. Most of out community outreach work is done in the spring, autumn, and winter months. This leaves a wide gap for other activities for the Lodge to do. This year the Lodge decided to throw a picnic for all members and their families. The picnic was held at the Haller Shelter in Oglebay Park. It was a covered dish affair, with the Lodge providing the burgers and hotdogs. With much to do at Oglebay, the Lodge also provided anyone who wanted one, an activity bracelet to enjoy the pool, par 3 golf, miniature golf, the Good Zoo, Oglebay Mansion Museum and a host of other activities. It was a wonderful day of fellowship, the weather could not have been better. With over 50 people in attendance throughout the day, lunch and dinner was served. After dinner, kids games were held, and a campfire was built to roast mashmallows. Although no marshmallows were roasted, the fire was nice. Those left after dark, gathered for a friendly, although cutthroat game of UNO. It was a wonderful day in the sun with great Odd Fellow Brothers and Sisters. We hope we can make this an annual event for years to come.
