Wheeling Odd Fellows Volunteer for the Easter Seals Telethon
12 members of Wheeling Lodge #9 helped in a big way for this year’s telethon. The Lodge was the largest source of volunteers this year, and members participated in several different way throughout the entirety of the 3 hour fundraiser. You couldn’t go anywhere in the WTRF building on Sunday afternoon without bumping into an Odd Fellow. The members of the Lodge are proud that we are known for our hard work with the telethon in the past and are honored that we were asked to take on so much responsibility this year. The highlight of the telethon for many of us, was our Vice Grand, Holly Timmons and her daughter Kayley were VIPs on air taking calls from generous donors for the final hour of the program. It was a great day of Community service and fellowship. The Telethon raised $164,050 for Easter Seals, and the members of the Lodge that participated are proud to be able to help each year and look forward to next year.
Easter Seals is an American nonprofit charitable organization that assists more than one million children and adults with disabilities and special needs through a network of more than 550 service sites in the United States, Canada, Australia and Puerto Rico.
