Mrs. Elwell (Afterward)

Mrs. Elwell is a proud woman and married to Bob Elwell. She mentioned briefly in the story and portrayed as a victim. After her husband’s suicide she tries hard to care for the children and Bob’s mother on her own. She becomes sick and desperate, so desperate that she has to reach out to the public for help (Wharton 369).
