Elwell's mother (Afterward)

The mother of Bob Elwell is mentioned once in chapter five. There it is said that after the death of Bob, his wife has to take care of the children and of his mother. This makes it safe to assume that his mother is an old woman, unable to take care of herself. (Wharton 369).
