The Champs Elysées is a famous avenue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It leads from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. The Champs Elysées offers many shopping stores, beautiful cafés, restaurants, theaters, and entertainment. Furthermore the avenue has a line of trees which were first planted in 1724. In the center of the Champs Elysées is a big fountain. The neighborhood provides many sights which visitors can discover. These are for example the Arc de Triomphe and the Théâtre des Champs Elysées. The construction of the Champs Elysées begun with Louis XIV and was finished by Louis XV. Until the early 19th century the road led through the country side.
