Wikipedia

Wikipedia has raised a hornet's nest of issues relating to the reliability of sources of information that might count as authoritative, consensual knowledge.

The general advice on its use would be, certainly, do not rely on it exclusively.

Possibly, even, do not rely on it extensively.

One suggestion might be to employ this resource in a cycle of research, using the bibliographies attached to many Wikipedia entries as a means of discovery.

In short, the general advice might be along the lines of employ Wikipedia as a source of discovery for other resources, but not as a terminus or a final authority.

This would seem to suggest avoidance of quoting from a wikipedia entry, while remaining at the level of citing such entries as having provided valuable links.
