Library Search is the place to look for printed books in the University of Westminster collection, Books may be monographs or edited volumes, i.e. collections of chapters written by different authors.
Printed books have Locations and Call numbers, for example, in the screen shot shown across, the Location is Harrow Library and the Call or Dewey number is 335.4 DER. The image also shows that there are copies at the Regent Library.
The value of books is that they provide access to extended arguments and different perspectives on a topic. They may challenge existing consensual knowledge, or simple deepen it, by providing new evidence. Having been through the editorial and publishing process, they can be said, similarly to journal articles, to have been peer-reviewed, one of the criteria used to assess the value of information.
