Welcome to the Westboro Badminton Club (WBC)

WBC is a long established community club that opened its doors over 75 years ago. WBC is a private recreational club and is also a member of the Ottawa District Badminton Association (ODBA).

We offer a dynamic and challenging playing environment as well as the opportunity to participate in club sponsored social activities. For the more competitive player, WBC offers the option of competitive play as WBC is active on the tournament circuit and routinely enters teams in the various city tournaments that are organized throughout the year.

There are 4 courts available and priority is given to doubles play. To establish who gets on and off the court we favour the "find a foursome" model and use the honour system to ensure all members share the court times fairly. WBC does not rank players using any kind of colour code or numbering system as the club encourages all members to play in games both above and below their skill level as this builds the overall strength of the club, encourages interaction between members and provides the opportunity to improve skills and to help others. Each match is played to 21 points (21 rally point scoring system is followed) and there are no time limits on games.
