Let's Rejoice!  Farida's Family is what we call the refugee sponsorship project that Wesley undertook in 2020. Farida is a Canadian woman who lives in Pembroke.  We applied to sponsor Farida's mother (a widow), Farida's sister, brother-in-law and their little boy after they escaped Afghanistan and fled to Tajikistan. On Thursday, June 18, a Canadian immigration official interviewed them to decide whether Canada will accept them as refugees. The interview went well. The official told Farida's mother-through a translator- "You will soon see your children". That, plus a few other details, allows us to begin to celebrate. The official decision comes down after their medical appointments in one month. We can expect them to come before Christmas.

"Wesley United Church will be hosting the August 30th "Churches United" worship service. Up to 10 other congregations may be in attendance. Details to follow. “Mark your calendars and plan to attend."

Sunday Services for the month of July will be held at Zion Evangelical United Church @ 10:.00 am.

Sunday services for the month of August will be held @ Wesley United Church @ 10:00 am.

Please note: The Church Office will be closed from July 1st  to July 8th. I will be in the office on Wed. July 8th, Wed. July 15th, &
Wed. July 22nd from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.
