Membership Fees (Subs)
The club's financial year is 1 November - 31 October. Membership fees (subscriptions) are due on 1 November for the following 12 months.
Membership fees be should paid within 6 months of the due date, i.e. by the end of April.
$20.00 - Individual or organisational membership.
$25.00 - Family membership (i.e. family or two or more individuals at the same address).
$NZ30.00 (or equivalent in foreign currency) - Overseas membership (individual or family). Refer International Payments below for further details.
Our preferred subs payment method is internet banking or direct credit into the club's Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) account. Details below:

Otherwise subs can be paid:
exact amount in cash at a club meeting
in cash over the counter or deposit through a smart ATM at any branch of the BNZ. Please use the account name number above and enter your surname in the "reference" field. This enables the payment to be reconciled against the paid subs list.
Please do not send cash in the post. This is done at your own risk. The club accepts no responsibility for payments made in this manner. Notwithstanding, any cash payments received will be receipted, otherwise receipts will only be issued on request.
GST
The club is not registered for GST.
International Payments
International payments should be a foreign exchange transfer.
The Swift Code is BKNZNZ22 and the Clearing Code (if required) is 020536.

Credit and Debit Cards, Cheques
Subs payments by credit card or debit card are not accepted.
Cheques, including foreign currency cheques, are no longer accepted at banks in New Zealand .

What do I get for my subs?
Members receive the following:
A monthly newsletter with information about forthcoming events including monthly club meetings*, field trips, other club outings, social events, occasional pre-meeting evening dinners, summer BBQs, pot luck dinners (members pay own costs) plus general club news.
A copy of the Wellington Shell Club journal "Cookia" containing scientific articles and items of wider and general interest. "Cookia" is published annually, usually in late November.
Access to the club library and reference documents (refer Booklist).
A current contact list of club members - usually updated quarterly and emailed or posted with the newsletter.
* There is no meeting in December. The January meeting is typically a casual social afternoon or early evening BBQ event hosted at a member's private home.
