2020 Scholarship
The Winner of the 2020 Scholarship Award is:
Kevoseay (Bosko) Norman who plans on becoming a teacher, most likely in social studies or science. Bosko loves basketball and desires to pass his love of the game on by coaching others. In high school Bosko participated in Basketball, Track, and Football and he is fond of how the fans cheered for the team and how it made everything so heart warming and in his words; "I never wanted to leave that moment". Bosko is thankful for this opportunity to give his future a better meaning as he stated "it may not be easy but I am definitely up for the challenge". Wee agrees and will look forward to all of Bosko's future accomplishments. Congratulations Bosko!
Jennifer Lynn Eakins was someone who lived and loved with a big heart. She was a devoted and involved mother to her two sons. She was also a beloved daughter, sister and friend to her family. Jennifer was a successful personal banker with clients and co-workers who loved and respected her for her financial savvy and genuine concern. She was also an entrepreneur who pursued her passions for massage therapy, football and travel. Jennifer’s love of God and people fueled everything that she did. The WEE Club 2019 Jennifer Eakins Scholarship is a tribute to her memory.

WEE Scholarship recipient, Khalil Edmondson is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School in Douglas County, Georgia. Khalil plans to attend Howard University where he will major in finance. Khalil was active in FBLA, DECA, and Band at his high school. He also participated and placed in "Youth About Business" sponsored by his church. Khalil received national recognition at FBLA National Leadership Conferences, placing 1st in Emerging Business Issues and 4th in Business Ethics.
Wee Scholarship recipient, Audra Davison is a graduate of Woodland High School in Stockbridge, GA. Where she ranked #10 in her class and a member of the National Honor Society. Audra plans to attend Spelman College and major in Mass Communications. She is a writer who has completed and published one book with another in the works. During high school, Audra was in involved in volunteer and extra-curricular activities that are too numerous to mention.
Edwards Memorial Scholarship 2018
The WEE Club, Edwards Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Priscilla, Robert and Mary Edwards, who passed away in 2015 and 2017. They are family members of WEE club President, Doris Edwards Drayton.
Priscilla Edwards was widowed in 1970. With her characteristic strength and determination, she went on to fearlessly raise and protect nine (9) children. She taught them to love God, to love each other and to always have a heartfelt compassion for others. She encouraged them to excel and to give freely whenever and wherever there was a need. In all these things, she led by example.
Robert “Bobby” Edwards had the natural ability to engage and encourage others. He was a gifted artist and writer who shared his life through his art and stories. Bobby was a devoted father of three (3) sons and a loyal friend, who always had a smile or words of encouragement. He enjoyed a long and successful career in sales, fueled by his love of people and his ability to relate to them.
Mary Edwards Cochran loved her family, especially her only son and three (3) grandchildren, Mary was someone who could find laughter in every situation. She was generous, loyal and fiercely protective of those she loved. Mary worked in banking and customer service, where she was able to use her math skills and love for people.
The values that were so important to Priscilla, Bobby and Mary are also inherent in the giving spirit of the WEE Club. This scholarship is a fitting tribute to their lives.
They will never be forgotten.
WEE Inc. donates items of necessity on behalf of Chaplin Henry Miller, Chaplin of the CDC Prison Evaluation, in Jackson, Georgia. Chaplin Miller has been and continues to meet with churches, and various groups requesting a donation of important items needed by the prisoners.
Congratulations to Nigel T. Harper
Annual Scholarship Award 2016
Scholarship recipient Nigel T. Harper is a graduate of Westlake High School in Fulton County, Georgia. This fall, Nigel will attend Tennessee A & I State University, in Nashville, Tennessee and major in Business Administration-Marketing.
Nigel is well-known and respected at school and in his community. Nigel has demonstrated leadership qualities while involved in various collaborative settings, ensuring with ease that all aspects of the tasks were effectively completed. He has a positive attitude about life, education and helping those in need. He is very organized and diligent. He exemplifies the meaning of being a truly successful, well rounded person and a future leader in our society.

Annual Scholarship Award 2016
Scholarship recipient, Tyler I. Wright is a graduate of Towers High School in DeKalb County, Georgia. This fall, Tyler will attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and major in Business Administration. Tyler is an intelligent, dedicated and personable young man.
He is hard-working and displays unwavering commitment to his education and to helping others. Tyler served as Student Ambassador. He helped to lead the effort to change the “college going culture” at Towers High School by planning and executing school wide events and doing outreach mentoring with his underclassmen. Tyler will be a great asset to our future society.
Cleo Lewis Memorial Scholarship 2016
The Cleo Lewis Memorial Scholarship was established in the memory of Cleo Lewis, mother of WEE Club member, Rhonda Lewis, following her death in Nov. 2015.
Cleo was the wife of her childhood sweetheart of 65 years, Dudley, mother of five (5) children, two (2) grandchildren, six (6) great grandchildren, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Cleo labored most of her life to assure that her children would be afforded every educational and professional opportunity possible. As a result, her children were able to pursue lucrative careers in transportation, education, and public service.
A major portion of her professional life was spent in her local school district, where she impacted the lives of countless youth. She loved people and her philanthropy was known throughout her community. She was active in several local food pantries and distributed food to the less fortunate.
Cleo also was civic minded and served as the Precinct Committee Woman for Centreville Township, where she resided for over 50 years. During that time she was instrumental in securing jobs for local youth.
Cleo was a phenomenal woman who exemplified the giving, loving, spirit of the WEE Club, and this scholarship is a treasured tribute to a life well lived.
She will never be forgotten.
Congratulations to Tiana Smith
Annual Scholarship Awarded
Scholarship recipient, Tiana Smith is a graduate of Arabian Mountain High School in DeKalb County, Georgia. This fall, she will attend Clayton State University to study Communications and Logistics. Tiana is an honor student, active volunteer, church member and cancer survivor who exhibits confidence, determination and maturity beyond her years. Tiana Smith embodies the spirit of Vanessa Lee and the WEE mission. She is the perfect choice to receive our 2015 Scholarship.
The Vanessa Lee Memorial Scholarship was established in the memory of one our WEE Club members, Vanessa Lee, following her death in June 2014.
Vanessa was a devoted mother of two sons, grandmother, aunt and friend. She earned a B.A. in Education from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI and had a career that focused heavily on community based organizations as well as small businesses.
Vanessa was known for her giving spirit, which was exemplified in her tireless work with organizations such as "My Sisters House."
She was also on the board of directors of Partnership for Community Action.
Vanessa always had a passion for education and demonstrated her commitment to learning through her own pursuit of knowledge, so it is fitting and proper that a scholarship is named in her honor. She has left us a legacy of love, service, leadership and commitment to improving her community.
She will never be forgotten.

Vanessa Lee Rush
Vanessa Lee Rush, a beloved member and Business Manager of WEE passed away on June 27th, 2014. Her spirit will continue to live on in our hearts and in our desire to serve others. Vanessa lived a life defined by service. Her legacy of love, charity, faith in God and consistency in words and deeds will endure.
Women Encouraging Education (WEE) is a non-profit organization, based in Atlanta, GA. Our mission is to promote, support and encourage continuing education. This year, WEE is awarding its first scholarship in memory of Anthony P. Hopkins. The Anthony P. Hopkins Memorial Scholarship is awarded to one male or female student to assist them in attending college.
Congratulations to Myers Hines
First Annual Scholarship Awarded
The Scholarship committee is proud to announce that WEE has selected Myers Hines as the recipient of the Anthony P. Hopkins scholarship.
Myers Hines plans to attend Mercer University where he will major in Biochemistry. His ultimate goal is to become a dentist. When he is not pursuing his studies, Myers is dedicated to serving others through student service organizations as well as church groups. He loves swimming and
science and considers being helpful and friendly as his strong character traits.
The Anthony P. Hopkins Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Anthony P. Hopkins, a talented and well-loved musician. The scholarship will provide support for a deserving student and serve as a lasting tribute to Anthony’s memory, following his death the summer of 2013. He was 26 years old. Anthony P. Hopkins completed his undergraduate and graduate degree (BM’09. MM’11), at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western University. Anthony, a student of Massimo La Rosa, Steven N. Witser and Richard Stout, was principal trombone at the Akron Symphony Orchestra. Anthony also taught private students, working as a positive influence in the lives of younger musicians.The Anthony P. Hopkins Memorial Scholarship is a one-time non-renewable Scholarship awarded on the basis of a competitive selection process. The process may consider the following criteria:
