The remaining 8th graders have abandoned the building and left a small group of us behind to hold down the fort.
But, there's a problem. Mr. Hoffman and the other teachers on the trip are worried. Touring such a large city on buses and visiting so many places is sure to lead to dozens and dozens of students to lose their way and get lost in the vast city of Washington D.C.

So far this year in your social studies classes, you have been analyzing the interactions between individuals, events, and ideas in the many texts you have read (CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.7.3) about America's founding & the history of Washington D.C. (e.g., how ideas influence individuals or events, or how individuals influence ideas or events) & now is time to show your teachers as the 8th graders in the building what you are really made of.
