I have created and maintained a website for economics education "hi, economics". This website is created to serve two types of readers: those who have taken economics in high schools, and those who are laymen but are interested in economics. It is named "hi, economics" because it represents my welcome message to economics learners (say "Hi" to you) and posts in this blog will not require more than what one can learn from a typical high-school economics course.
I have also created a facebook page for it. By liking or following the page, readers can get automatic notice about new posts from the page.
All the posts are free. It also admits only free membership. There is no intention to admit paid membership. The Patreon will not have new posts other than those that have been posted in the original hi,economics blog. However, I think creating a Patreon can expand the reach of hi,economics. Some people may have a habit of reading Patreon posts but not blogspot posts. I can reach them now but not in the past.
I also take this opportunity to re-organize the posts and re-write some posts with some minor changes. The Patreon posts will be organized based on topics. For example, all posts related to the law of demand will now be re-posted in consecutive order, and then I will post another series of posts of another topic. The process enables us to have a more complete thinking of a topic. Meanwhile, I will re-write the posts to clear up some errors. For some contents that were hot at the time of writing but not very useful today, I will also modify the contents so as to keep only the unchanged insights. For certain posts that have only temporary significance, I will not re-post them in Patreon.
The re-posting and re-writing will take time to finish. Each week I will do only one re-posting. I guess it takes about one year to finish the whole programme. Having finished the re-posting, all new posts will be published in blogpost and Patreon at the same time. This will happen only after a year. At the moment, Patreon handles only re-posting, not new posting.
