Membership

WCOAGC Memberships:

  • Gifted Advocates of West Central Ohio are encouraged to purchase an annual $15 membership.

  • Memberships help make it possible for WCOAGC to provide quality programs about the current status of gifted education as well as strengthen the support for gifted education in Ohio.

  • There are two ways to join: You can join when you register for a quarterly training OR you can register at any time by submitting the Membership form below.

Lifetime Memberships:

  • Retired Gifted Educators are granted a lifetime membership, and are invited to attend WCOAGC events for the cost of the lunch. Join us!

  • Retired / Rehired Gifted Educators who are supported by professional development funds in their district are asked to pay regular workshop fees.

What does our constitution say about membership?

ARTICLE IV - MEMBERSHIP

Section 1.

Membership in the Association shall be open to anyone interested in the education and general welfare of gifted and talented children.

Section 2

There shall be the following types of membership

a. Active: An active member is one who supports the organization by paying annual dues.

b. Honorary. An honorary lifetime membership may be awarded to one who has contributed in an outstanding manner to the education and welfare of gifted and talented children. Any member may nominate a candidate to be considered for honorary lifetime membership, subject to approval by a majority of the members at a regular meeting. Honorary lifetime members shall be exempt from paying annual dues and shall be entitled to all privileges of membership, except voting and holding office. Lifetime: A lifetime membership is awarded to active WCOAGC members when they retire from education. Lifetime members are exempt from paying annual dues and shall be entitled to all privileges of membership. Lifetime members who no longer work in education may audit special programs and workshops at cost. Lifetime members who return to work in the field of education and are supported by professional development funds are asked to pay regular workshop and program fees to attend.

Section 3.

Active members and Lifetime members as described in Article IV, Section 2, shall have voting privileges.
