2014 STATE CHAMPIONS
The Wayzata Girls' Swim and Dive team won the Class AA State meet on Friday, November 14th, with a record setting score of 337 points. Edina came in second with 281 points and Minnetonka came in third with 192.5 points. The medley relay, made up of Carly Quast, Madison Preiss, Lexi Schaaf and Colleen Donlin took first with a new school record time of 1:42.30 and Madison Preiss was the state champion in the 200IM with a new school record of 2:01.50. On top of that, Mary Whiting set a new school record in the 200 free with a time of 1:49.68, Lexi Schaaf set a new school record in the 100 fly with a time of 55.97, Madison Preiss set a new school record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.78, and both the 200 free relay (Whiting, Schaaf, Megan Larson and Preiss) as well as the 400 free relay (Whiting, Quast, Sarah Lingen and Donlin) set new school records with times of 1:34.07 and 3:24.57, respectively. Overall, the Trojans had 22 events make it back to finals: three relays and 12 individuals in the top eight, and 13 of those in the top five. What a memorable way to end an UNDEFEATED season.
