This website is dedicated to my grandpa, Paul Mumford (July 30, 1938 to March 29, 2012). When Grandpa was a child, he and his family lived and worked on their own farm in Kuna, Idaho. As an adult, Grandpa was an exceptionally brilliant electrical engineer whose main joy in life was to solve problems. Even though he moved to the city of Los Angeles, California when he was just a spring chicken, he was an avid gardener who especially loved to plant tomatoes, and he tended to an army of tomato crops wherever he lived in the County of Orange. Of the numerous people in my life who have been supportive and encouraging concerning my decision to embark on a farming adventure, Grandpa was second only to my own mother in terms of enthusiasm for my voyage into agriculture. I am sad that I will not get to share all of the stories of my adventure with him. But I am glad and grateful that I got to know him so well, particularly during these past three years when my mom was traveling often. Together, we shared a love of dogs, analytical thinking, humorous sayings ("I'm just fine as frog hair") and songs ("Jimmy Crack Corn, and I Don't Care...") from bygone eras, and cribbage. I will always love you, Grandpa.
