About the original Wave OS Project:
Wave Project is up and running again. It was quiet for several years. Or not so quiet.
Happens that several internal problems were solved on the working environment, not exactly the system itself.
This project began with the purpose of a free and opensource operating system based on an alternative unix like system and gnustep API. Efforts during the "quiet" time to try to adapt gnustep did not yield nice results , in consequence, this idea has been abandoned.
However, the main purpose is still there and even is being taking more seriously: there is going to be an all-new gnustep-like library and a new GUI based on it, trying to became the free and opensource alternative to a very well known OS for consumer computers. The codename chosen for the new library project is "Stepney Green" after a london borough whose name can give an idea of the new feature to developers. Unlike gnustep, it will be written as a native part of this system, following its own design and guidelines and as a part of it, not as an add-on.
What used to be known as "Wave OS DR0x" based on the Syllable Desktop OS now belongs to the "Stepney Green" family. This is a Gnu system, but not a Gnu/Linux one. Iso's files for Dr04.1 and DR05x are available in the repositories below for free.
About the "Wave-On-Linux" project:
Wave-On-Linux will be some gnu/linux distributions aimed for convenience purposes. Given the situation of this project, and the current times, more than one variant may be offered. For example, a media center system,a x86 mobile system and others. More likely the would be remasters of an existing gnu/linux distributions adjusted for the likely user of Wave systems.
Given the situation of the Gnustep project and having declared that the purpose of this project is to have a gnustep-like system yet better and fit for current times, some antique gnustep-distributions may be offered as .iso images. They may be not fully able to deal with modern apps but can serve for whom may wish to learn about objective-c and gui programming. Documentation is now perfectly available in the repositories below for free.
About Wave Single Board Computer:
Wave Single Board Computer (Wave SBC for short) is an open hardware project aiming towards a low cost computer able to run Wave OSes whenever they be succesfully built for Risc-V technology, wich means, free and open hardware desing up to the silicon wafer. This project may look quiet for long but it will take off later.
