WaterTools Add-In

WaterTools is an Excel Add-In that contains a set of user-defined functions for common hydrologic and hydraulic computations. WaterTools, with complete helpfile documentation, is offered as a free download. Be sure to follow the installation instructions. Functions include:

• Manning's Equations for circular, trapezoidal, and natural channels - solves for depth, flow, or slope
  • Critical depth, Froude no., cross-sectional area, hydraulic radius, wetted perimeter, and top width
  • Backwater culvert hydraulics using the US Federal Highway Administration HDS-5 methodology
  • Standard step backwater analysis for trapezoidal channels.
  • Log Pearson Type III
  • Extreme Value Type I
  • Santa Barbara Urban Hydrogaph (SBUH)
  • NRCS Curve Number Method (TR20)
  • Runoff Analysis and Flow Traning Simulation (RAFTS) using the Laurensen method.
