Painting Restoration

This oil on canvas portrait needed a goood clean and the oil varnish removed that had yellowed badly over time.

A section at a time is worked on with a solvent that removes the old varnish but doesnt harm the original painting.

Once the old varnish is removed any paint loss or damage is touched up with reversible paints and only on the damaged area and not over the original paint.

Finally the canvas is given a fresh coat of varnish that wont yellow over time and once again is easilly removed if needed in the future.
