Art Conservation

Restoring art is slightly different to ceramics. Where as the vast majority of ceramics are restored invisibly art is more conserved and making sure that only the damaged section is repaired and not invading on any of the original.

In this portrait the varnish had badly yellowed over time and was removed before re touching in and a new varnish applied. All products used are reversible.

In the image on the left this portrait is having old varnish removed, under a black light the old varnish is showing up in green and the face is where the varnish has been removed.
