This tour will offer a visit to the FedEx Hangar at LAX where C checks are performed on MD10 aircraft. FedEx is the only air carrier in the world operating the MD10 (a fully modified DC10 with glass cockpit and 2-man flight crew.)

Orbis is a charitable organization travelling the globe to prevent and treat blindness by providing quality eye care and teaching local doctors how to continue to care for local patients. This DC10 aircraft is a fully modified hospital with operating rooms as well as a teaching facility on board! FedEx is a sponsor and partner company and provides aircraft maintenance and flight crews as well as overnight delivery of medicines along with other financial contributions.

Tour starts promptly at 5:30pm.

Late-comers will not be admitted in due to security restrictions imposed by DHS & TSA for airfield access.

Due to TSA restrictions, all visitors must present a valid government issued ID card (Driver’s license, passport, etc) in order to access the facility. NO ID, NO TOUR.

NO HIGH HEELS, Please! Only flat shoes with closed toe. We will be climbing boarding stairs to see the aircraft and walking inside and around the airplanes which will be in “maintenance condition”!
