A quick word about Singing Valentines and Regionals: First, I LOVE Singing Valentines! They are part of my best memories from my time as a student at WAHS, and I want you all that are participating to be able to have that memory too--they are a big part of the culture at our school. So, I am NOT telling you not to do it, but I want to stress that being on your feet, dancing, for 5+ hours the day before an important meet is less than ideal, and could impact how you race the following day. I'm just letting you know the facts, as I think that is the only responsible thing I can do as your coach. I'm telling you this because you have come SO FAR this season in your training and racing, and I want to see you continue to be successful. Some of you have the chance to make it out of the Region and on to States. So, have FUN with the Singing Valentines, but try to take it easy as much as possible. I used the analogy the other day when talking to some of you of taking the "Low Impact/ Low Intensity" option that is sometimes offered in aerobics classes. If you can do that, and still maintaing the feel and excitement of the dance, then that is the route to go. :)
Saturday Feb 14: REGIONAL MEET. More info ASAP.
