Assignment Description:

Build a definition for a 2D parametric drawing in Rhino. From this, generate three unique iterations of the drawing. Then, create physical drawings from these designs using the CNC Vinyl Plotter machine.

Assignment Requirements:

1.) Create a definition for a 2D parametric design in Grasshopper. Make use of objects for repetition like Linear, Rectangular and Polar Array.

2.) By altering the values of parameters in your definition, generate three (3) unique versions of your design.

3.) Bake these designs into Rhino. Then:

a.) If a design is already 2D: Simply select all curves, then File > Export Selected > .AI (Adobe Illustrator)

b.) If a design is 3D: First use the "make2D" command in Rhino to create a perspective drawing, then export as a .AI file (as in step a.)

4.) Using the Vinyl Plotter Machine in the Thing Tank, create physical drawings of each of the three iterations that are at least 8x8 inches.

a.) You can scale your drawings in the plotter software (Sure Cuts A Lot Pro 3)

b.) Thicker paper (i.e. cardstock, heavy drawing paper, etc) is recommended. Max width is 13", max drawing area is 10.5"

5.) Document this process and include in a new post on your process blog.
