I obtained my bachelor degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from St. Peters Eng. College (University of Madras) in 2003. In Jan 2008, I graduated with M. Tech. (Research) from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. I graduated with a Ph. D. from the School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2011. During Mar-Oct 2011, worked as a Research Associate at NTU. From Nov 2011-Feb 2014, I worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In May-Dec 2014, I worked as an Asst. Professor (Selection Grade) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore. From Jan 2015 - Aug 2020, I worked as an Assoc. Professor in the Dept. of ECE at PES University, Bangalore. Since 2020, I am a professor in ECE, PES University. I head the Network Design and Automation group which comprises of research scholars, faculty members and students from ECE department.
I have keen interests in wireless network design, urban mobility, smart grids, optimization, deep reinforcement learning and scheduling problems (in general). The research objective is to maximize the quality of experiences for the clients in large-scale networks (e.g., urban transport, 6G V2X) while reducing the computation complexity of the algorithms and cost of the service. Often, such problems fall into the category of stochastic mixed integer problems. The key requirements for solving such problems include: modeling the dynamic behaviours of the clients and newtork resources, good understanding of problem decomposition, MDP reformulations and application of deep learning techniques. Here are some research problems from past and present:
Demand Response Modeling for Smart Grid
Power Trading Problems in Energy Markets
Power Trading and Real-time Regulation Service Using Electric Vehicles
Shared Investments in Renewable Energy Sources
Proactive Content Caching and Content Delivery
Design of Multi-access Edge Computing
Pricing, Repositioning and Dispatch for Mobility-on-Demand Systems

I believe I developed several UG and PG courses (both theory and lab) in the Dept. of ECE at PES University. I was responsible for setting up the Computer Networks Lab which offers hands-on training on Wireshark, Python and GNS3. I introduced QUCS-based experiments for circuit analysis. I also introduced Python-based programming and solving of optimization problems using CVXPY and CPLEX. I taught courses such as Network Analysis and Synthesis, Linear Algebra, Computer Communication Networks, Digital Communication, Optimization, Wireless Network Design, Artificial Neural Networks and Introduction to Queuing Theory.
Long-time reviewer for several leading international journals such as IEEE TSG, IEEE IoT Journal, IEEE TVT, IEEE COM MAG, IEEE TII, IEEE TPWRS, IEEE JSAC and IJEPES, JDPC, Applied Energy.
