Dr. Vamsi Krishna Tumuluru,

Professor, PES University

Research Interests

I am interested in system design and automation, optimization, deep reinforcement learning and scheduling algorithms in general. More specifically, I focus on developing near-optimal, scalable, low cost, fair and privacy preserving scheduling algorithms for wireless networked systems.  I head the Wireless, Communications and Networking (WiNC) domain in the Dept. of ECE, PES University. I am also the head of the System Design and Automation group which comprises of three research scholars, faculty members from ECE and several UG and PG students. We work on wide range of research problems such as

Teaching interests

Proposed several UG and PG courses (theory and lab) in the Electronics and Communications Engineering. I was responsible for the setup of the Computer Networks Lab based on Wireshark, Python and GNS3. I also introduced programming in python and using CVXPY and CPLEX for solving optimization problems. I have taught courses such as Network Analysis and Synthesis, Computer Communication Networks, Digital Communication, Optimization, Wireless Networking, Artificial Neural Networks and Introduction to Queuing Theory.

Other activities/Responsibilities:

I am a long-time reviewer for several leading international journals such as IEEE TSG, IEEE IoT Journal, IEEE TVT, IEEE TII, IEEE TPWRS, IEEE JSAC and IJEPES, Applied Energy.

I served as the Chief Curriculum Design Coordinator in the years 2015-2021 for ECE, PES University.

I also serve in various doctoral committees in PES University and several institutions affiliated to VTU.
