Designation: Member, R&D, Design and Analysis Group
Responsibilities:
Structural analysis, Modal analysis, Harmonic analysis, Fatigue analysis, Contact analysis and Non-linear analysis (mainly including material non-linearity) in ANSYS.
Analysis of various automotive parts, mainly including plastic parts and all kinds of wheels.
Design and topology optimization in Optistruct and ANSYS.
Simulating the standard laboratory tests to set up a correlation between experimental data and computational data.
Resolving warranty issues and customer complaints.
Notable Projects :
Design of Magnesium Alloy Wheel.
Mathematical modelling of piston rings conformability and piston motion.
Energy recovery for hybrid vehicle : There is a need of energy recovery in hybrid vehicles. A particular design of energy recovery system was presented and patented. The shock-absorbers which are supposed to absorb the impact from the road, are utilized for energy recovery, further making the system a semi-active suspension system.
Macros for ANSYS and HyperMesh : The pre-processing and post processing of any analysis requires a lot of time. This process was automated by writing macros in HyperMesh using the language TCL/Tk. Further the analysis in ANSYS was automated by writing the macros in APDL. The outcome was the reduction in overall analysis time by 50-60 %
