Cockroaches are a common summertime pest. They can be found in most environments and often live close to where humans do, including the many species that call Sacramento home.

Fortunately, there are safe and effective ways to prevent and control these pests:

• Keep yards and outside areas free of garbage and clutter

• Install door sweeps and seal any holes to prevent cockroaches from entering your home

• If you apply pesticide near your home, do not spray near stormwater drains

• Use cockroach bait to more effectively kill roaches instead of spraying insecticide
