Andris Berzins

Andris received his bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Latvia while working at the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy where he got acquainted with side-emitting and UV permeable optical fibers. He received his master's degree in physics for his research in diatomic molecules and his PhD in 2016 for his research in magneto-optical effects in atomic vapors and their applications in magnetometry, while working in the Laser Centre of University of Latvia. In his post-doc years, Andris worked with the Nitrogen-Vacancy centers in diamond, studying their level structure and nuclear spin polarization, as well as their applications in magnetic field measurements and in magnetic field microscopy. In 2022 Andris joined CHTM as a Research Assistant Professor, where he works with the Acosta Lab on magnetometry and NMR experiments.
