Recent TCV Member Activities

TCV is proud to have its members actively serving the community in a wide range of venues related to vibration, sensing, and controls:

•TCV member Lei Zuo serving as General co-Chair for 2019 ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (2019 ASME IDETC/CIE), Aug 18-21, 2019.

•TCV member Dr. Murat Inalpolat to organize the ASME IDETC VIB (Structural Damage Detection and Diagnostics) Symposium as well as the PTG (Gear Dynamics and Noise) Symposium for the upcoming ASME IDETC Conference to be held in August,2019 in Anaheim, CA.

•TCV member JiongTang organizing the 2020 ASME Dynamic Systems and Controls Conference as the General Chair at Pittsburg. TCV member Xu Chen helping Dr. JiongTang as the Industrial Chair.

•TCV member Lei Zuo serving as Organizing committee chair for the 2019 FAST-zero, 5th International Symposium on Future Active Safety Technology Toward zero traffic accidents, Sept 9-12, 2019.

•TCV member Xu Chen serving as the Publicity Chair for the 2020 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM) at Boston and the Local Arrangement Chair for the 2023 AIM Conference.

•TCV member Xu Chen serving in the operational committee for the 2021 IEEE American Control Conference.

•TCV member Lei Zuo serving as Guest Editor for thematic issue on energy harvesting in Acta MechanicaSinica.

•TCV member Dr. Murat Inalpolat has been named the Guest Editor for a Special Issue entitled “Wind Turbine Acoustics and Noise” in the Journal of Acoustics. This special issue aims to showcase the latest research trends in wind turbine acoustics and noise from the aeroacoustics, structural health monitoring, environmental noise, system-level and component-level turbine design, and controls perspective. •TCV member Lei Zuo as Invited Keynote Speaker at Asian Wave and Tidal Energy Conference, “Mechanical Motion Rectifier: A High Efficiency and Reliable WEC Power Takeoff”, Taipei, Taiwan, Sept 9-13, 2018.

•TCV member Lei Zuoas Invited Keynote Speaker at First International Conference on Vibration and Energy Harvesting Application, "Energy Harvesting: From Wireless Sensors and Self-Powered Control to Blue Energy", Shenzhen, China, Nov 2-4, 2018

•TCV member Nejat Olgac awarded Honorary Doctorate from Czech Technical University in recognition of his 35-plus years of high impact scholarly work and collaborations with Czech scientists. The CTU honorary doctorate, given out since 1905, has seen 160 leaders in their field receive the award, including U.S. Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Herbert Hoover, and renowned electrical engineer Nikola Tesla.
