SHADOW PLAY: A PRECURSOR OF CINEMA / Teatro de sombras: precursor del cine
Since ancient times, the recreation of a fantastic world, beyond reality, using different gadgets has been based on the techniques and scientific discoveries of each time. This recreation beyond reality has tried over time to adress the human need for communicating their dreams by realising themselves from senses ties and distorting reality.
In the fantasy world, cinema was the culmination of this slow evolution to create an illusion and SHADOW PLAY was one of the first attempts. Undoubtedly, the shadows thrown on the cavern walls by the fire can be considered the oldest and simplest method of creating the impression of moving images to tell a story in order to teach or entertain.
Desde la antigüedad, la recreación de un mundo fantástico más allá de la realidad a través de diversos artilugios basados en las técnicas y descubrimientos científicos de cada momento, ha tratado de dar respuesta a la necesidad del ser humano de expresar sus sueños, distorsionando la realidad y liberándose de las ataduras de los sentidos.
En el universo fantástico, el cine será la culminación de esta evolución lenta de la historia de las luces y las sombras proyectadas para crear una ilusión y el TEATRO DE SOMBRAS uno de los primeros intentos. Las sombras arrojadas por el fuego sobre las paredes de la caverna son sin duda el método más antiguo y sencillo de crear imágenes en movimiento para contar una historia con la que enseñar o entretener.
