Dr. Yi-Hui Lin is currently an Assistant Professor at the Center for Teacher Education and Career Development at the University of Taipei.
Dr. Lin’s research focuses on four key areas: Early Childhood STEAM Education, Design Thinking in Curriculum Design, Preschool Teacher Education, and Technology Integration in Early Childhood Education.
Early Childhood STEAM Education: Investigates how interdisciplinary learning can foster young children’s (especially gifted learners’) problem-solving and creative thinking skills, and designs curricula that meet higher-order cognitive demands to cultivate self-directed learning abilities.
Design Thinking in Curriculum Design: Centers on design thinking as a framework to develop curriculum models suited for early childhood education, enhancing teachers’ ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curricula, with an emphasis on empathy and individualized learning strategies.
Preschool Teacher Education: Focuses on the professional development of both pre-service and in-service preschool teachers, encompassing curriculum design, teaching strategies, technology integration, and classroom management. Adopts a balanced approach combining theory and practice to prepare competent educators capable of addressing diverse needs in early childhood settings.
Technology Integration in Early Childhood Education: Explores the diverse applications of digital tools and interactive technology toys in early childhood STEAM curricula, analyzing how AI learning, AR/VR, and smart educational toys can enhance children’s learning experiences and engagement. Also examines teachers’ acceptance of technology and their professional growth to promote innovative teaching and learning.
