Page 23 -23 Bottle cap.

1939 - 1940 Junior Vendo (Top)

Note there is (1) vertical, cylinder lock to lock the top down. It's located toward the left side.

1941-1942 Vendo 123 (Top)

Note there are (2) vertical, cylinder locks to lock the top down. One located near each side.

1941 - 1942 Vendo 123 (Top, opened)

Note the 23-bottle opening grill plate attached to the bottom of the Top.

The Junior Vendo and all Vendo V-23's do not have this plate. Only the Vendo 123 does.

1949 - 1954 Vendo V-23 Standard Cooler

Note no three-vein rotating knob on top, left, front corner.

The top vending plate is rotated manually by grabbing a round knob on the vending door.

Also note the silver colored top, an embossed Coca-Cola logo plate on the front and the 'ICE COLD' and it's location.

1950 - 1954 Vendo V-23 Deluxe Cooler

Same as above except it did have a three-veined rotating knob above the coin mechanism that when rotated also rotates the top vending plate.

(I could not find a representative picture or illustration of this unit. Refer to illustration of the V-23B).

1954 - 1956 Vendo V-23A

Same as the V-23 Standard Cooler except the size and location of 'ICE COLD'. (The bottle-in-hand decal was added by bottling companies in the field).

1954 - 1956 Vendo V-23B

Same as the V-23 Deluxe Cooler except the size and location of 'ICE COLD'.

1954 - 1956 Vendo V-23E Cooler

& 1957 Vendo V-23 Cooler

Note the red top, no 'ICE COLD', the Coca-Cola logo is painted on the cabinet, has 'BOTTLE STORAGE' with an arrow head, has a three-veined rotating knob and a formed lift handle on the vending door (no knob).

1958 - 1959 Vendo V-23 Cooler

Same as 1957 except it has the 'fishtail' Coca-Cola logo.

(I have seen enough manufacturers nameplates on the 1954-1959 models to conclude that the Model NUMBER on all of these machines is 'A23 E').
